One Good Deed Chicago is a city-wide commitment to people and communities to make sure everyone has a meaningful place to volunteer.
At www.OneGoodDeedChicago.org, you can match your passions and skills with the right organization.
Faced with limited resources many Chicago non-profits need help recruiting, training and managing volunteers. Chicago’s plan involves two programs, that with your involvement, can help us reach our June 2012 goals.
We have two priority programs:
– Success Coaches aims to direct volunteers to non-profits that work to improve the lives of Chicago youth through tutoring and mentoring.
– VolunTEAM pairs grassroots non-profits with retired and semi-retired professionals that coach them through steps to build their capacity.
One Good Deed Chicago is part of the Cities of Service coalition. Founded in New York City in 2009, the coalition seeks to engage more than 100 million people in service by the year 2020. To help reach this goal, Cities of Service in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation awarded Chicago one of 10 initial leadership grants in January 2010.
